Cross-border Shoe Factories Get in Sync and Step up Security with ATP Firewalls

To ensure smooth and secure communication among its factories in Vietnam and Myanmar, the fast-growing shoemaker needed new firewalls to set up VPN channels. However, its factories had been built at different times, with the oldest over 10 years old, and each had firewalls from different brands. This meant critical compatibility issues in trying to unify the network. Then came the security vulnerabilities and performance issues caused by these outdated firewalls. In 2021, the company started replacing the firewalls of every factory with Zyxel ATP700 firewalls, which can handle cybersecurity threat protection traffic up to 1.5Gbps for up to 1,600,000 concurrent sessions. The firewall's VTI function sets load-balancing rules after multiple site-to-site VPN connections are established in order to evenly distribute network traffic. It also provides network redundancy in case of a link failure. Zyxel’s ATP firewalls are also designed with multi-layered protection. Through cloud- and AI-based protections, including sandboxing, anti-malware, reputation filter, intrusion prevention, application patrol, and web filtering features, they block external security threats and restrict risky behavior. Lai-Yih Group says now, in addition to its factories enjoying smooth communication, managing the network requires minimal effort from managers and staff, who also now enjoy peace of mind that their operations are protected.
