ZyXEL commits to channel development with senior management appointments

Jean Michel Bielli is appointed Vice President Channel Sales Europe as Lee Marsden becomes President of Europe as company continues its EMEA growth strategy

January 26, 2012

ZyXEL Communications UK, a world-class broadband networking company that provides leading Internet solutions for customers ranging from telecommunications service providers, small and medium-sized businesses to home users, has made three senior European channel appointments, underlining its commitment to helping its partners to grow their business in the year ahead.

With immediate effect, Lee Marsden, formerly Vice President Channel Sales Europe and Managing Director UK, is appointed as President of Europe. He succeeds Gordon Yang, who will now be fully dedicated to his new role as President of ZyXEL Communications Corporation.

In addition, ZyXEL has appointed Jean Michel Bielli to replace Marsden as Vice President Channel Sales Europe. Bielli brings more than 13 years of channel experience to this important role and joins ZyXEL from NETGEAR, where he has held the position of VP EMEA for the past five years. Marsden will continue to function as MD of the ZyXEL UK operation.

ZyXEL has also named Karsten Gewecke as Vice President for Service Provider Sales Europe. He has joined from the specialist provider of management systems for telecommunications companies, Works Systems Inc. where he was General Manager. He rejoins ZyXEL after a six-year absence, having previously held the role of Director of Business Development Nordics and Country Manager UK.

Commenting on his new role, Marsden stated: “These senior appointments underline ZyXEL’s commitment to its channel partners and continued growth in the EMEA region. Over the past year, we have seen strong sales through our distributor and reseller network throughout Europe and we will continue to build on that momentum over the next 12 months. With his in-depth experience of channel development, Jean Michel will be able to help ZyXEL achieve higher levels of engagement in key areas of the market.”

Bielli stated: “ZyXEL is an exciting and dynamic company with an excellent product range and strong commitment the channel. We have a clear long-term strategy and want to drive growth through and with our partners. Over the next 12 months, we will be looking to deepen our relationships with resellers and broaden the range of our solutions that they actively take to market on our behalf.”

He believes that the potential for ZyXEL to reach further into the market is very significant indeed. “ZyXEL has a range of solutions to match any other networking vendor in the market today and a reputation for quality, performance and value that is second to none. We will be working to drive higher levels of awareness and generate more business for our partners and providing them with additional resources and support to help them develop their skills and ability to take our solutions to market successfully.”
