ZyXEL looks to form focused reseller partnerships to target education

Wokingham, 19 June 2012 – ZyXEL Communications, a leading supplier of networking and communications solutions, is looking to form partnerships with regionally-focused specialists in the education market, after a successful pilot of the programme generated a significant six-figure pipeline of new business potential.

Over the past six weeks, ZyXEL has been working closely with a select number of resellers to drive new business leads and opportunities within the county or regions they cover. These concentrated campaigns have created an impressive amount of new business potential for the resellers involved. Having proven the concept, ZyXEL now wants to work with other education-focused partners in other regions.

Antony Byford, Head of Channels UK and Ireland for ZyXEL, says: “We have generated very significant new business opportunities in schools and colleges for the partners involved thus far, and we now want to emulate that success in other counties and regions of the UK.  We will be looking for partners that have a specific and established focus on education and will work with individual resellers exclusively within each region.  Those partners can then be certain that, by making the commitment to ZyXEL, they will see the benefits coming back to them in terms of new business opportunities.”

ZyXEL will provide tailored training to education partners and funding for joint marketing activities, such as email blasts and telesales. ZyXEL also provides unlimited pre-sales support to the education focused-partners. The company is targeting the summer spending round and also to help resellers benefit from the back-to-school surge ahead of the start of the new school year in September.

It’s a good time to be working with ZyXEL in the education sector, Byford adds. “ZyXEL is already a popular choice in schools and with the new wireless, security and powerline products we’ve recently introduced, our appeal is even stronger. Resellers will also benefit from generous rebates, deal registration and special pricing that we offer for education, so they can always be certain that they can compete for business and still make good margins when they sell ZyXEL to schools.”

ZyXEL has already communicated its desire to form closer partnerships with more education-focused resellers through a targeted direct mail campaign. This will be following up by calling all resellers on the list with a view to starting a working relationship with them over the next few weeks.

Byford says: “Although we’ve only worked with a selected number of resellers in the past, we have had considerable success in the education market and with the summer buying season now in full swing, we feel this is the right time to be extending our reach into the sector.  We’ll be backing that up not only through specific activities with partner, but also with a wider promotional campaign and additional customer and reseller incentives buyers.
