ZyCAP makes zero-percent finance easy to help resellers grow SME sales

ZyXEL Communications has launched ZyCAP, a new zero-percent finance scheme designed to make it easy for resellers to offer lease-purchasing options to customers that are struggling to fund capital investment in networking equipment. 

The programme – thought to be one of the very few available from networking vendors in the channel today – is being provided through a leading global provider of leasing, business and consumer finance solutions.  Resellers can apply for finance online in minutes and expect a response within a few hours. It can be used to finance purchases of between £5000 and £200,000 over three years.

The scheme will help resellers to meet the needs of customers whose budgets are under pressure and grow their business.

The scheme should have particular appeal to SMBs and smaller public sector customers, says Antony Byford, Head of Channels UK and Ireland at ZyXEL. “While we are seeing good growth in our sales, we have also become aware that there are many schools, hotels, leisure centres, doctor’s surgeries and small businesses that need to upgrade their networking, wireless and security, but just don’t have the funding. ZyCAP removes that barrier and it’s something we will be really encouraging our partners to take to market. We think it has the potential to help resellers grow their sales of ZyXEL equipment very significantly indeed.”

Few networking vendors offer any kind of lease-purchase finance options, Byford notes. “Aside from one notable exception, there are no vendor-backed schemes available for networking solutions as far as we are aware. While it’s always possible to arrange finance, it is not always easy and it’s not often available at zero percent. With ZyCAP, the application can be made in minutes and the finance arranged within hours. It is easy, quick and benefits both the end-user and the reseller.

“The customer gets three years free credit on the purchase, so by the time they have paid for the new equipment, it will have already delivered return on investment. From a reseller’s perspective it is brilliant as they make the sale at full retail price and they get paid immediately.”

One additional benefit for customers is the option to keep the equipment at the end of the lease term for a 1 percent deal fee, or upgrade to newer hardware. The scheme has been kept deliberately uncomplicated to make it as easy as possible for resellers and their customers to understand and use. There are no catches or hidden terms and conditions and the application process is quick and easy to follow.

To take advantage of ZyCAP, resellers need to be registered as ZyXEL Partners. To apply for finance they simply log onto ZyXEL’s Partner Portal at, click through to the ZyCAP Portal and provide a few details on the customer. Resellers can expect a response to the application within a single working day. 

Any of ZyXEL’s range of managed and unmanaged switches, dual-band wireless access points, network security appliances and Powerline adapters can be financed under ZyCAP. With the minimum order value set at only £5000, securing only two financed deals of this value or more over the course of a year will qualify resellers to move up a tier in the ZyXEL Partner Programme and earn extra discounts so, as well as growing their sales, they will grow their profitability.

By helping customers plan their strategic technology roadmap, resellers tighten relationships and create future sales opportunities. Closing a financed deal will give them guaranteed income revenue from upgrades and licences growing their relationship with their customer and securing a reoccurring deal at the end of the finance term.
