ZyXEL makes sales training for security, wireless and switching available online

Web-based courses launched in response to partner feedback will make is easier for resellers to get competent in identifying new business opportunities and selling ZyXEL solutions successfully

ZyXEL Communications, leading supplier of networking and communications solutions, is making a series of sales online training courses available through its website, making it easier for resellers to enhance their competency and sell ZyXEL security, wireless and switching products.

Three streams covering the company’s main product lines are available. They have been designed to give reseller sales account managers the knowledge and confidence they need to identify potential opportunities and present ZyXEL solutions with confidence. There is no charge for taking the courses and once completed, they will count as one of the requirements for ZyXEL Solution and Premium Solution Partner status.

They have been launched in response to partner feedback, gathered in the company’s most recent Partner Survey, which took place in September 2012.

Antony Byford, Head of Channel UK & Ireland for ZyXEL, said: “We aim to make it as easy as possible for our partners to successfully sell ZyXEL products.  While many have attended our classroom-based sales training in the past, we realise resellers can find it difficult to take a whole day out of their schedule for this. The online training will make it much easier for them to get up to speed on our latest security, wireless and switching solutions. We’re seeing good growth in all these areas and ZyXEL is increasingly recognised by end-users as a viable alternative to the major brand names. Our partners can capitalise on that and having up-to-date knowledge will help sales people to capitalise on every opportunity.”

The sales training is divided into security, wireless and switching sections and then further split into sub-modules, so partners can take the courses at their own pace and at any time. Each section provides an overview of the relevant ZyXEL SMB product range and covers business-scenarios, key selling points and the competitive landscape.

The courses are free for and can be accessed via the ZyXEL education portal at Partners can also access a range of technical training modules here.

The online sales training is one of the requirements for achieving and maintaining ZyXEL Solution and Premium Solution Partner status. To achieve these accreditations and receive the benefits of the ZyXEL Partner Programme, resellers must also complete specific classroom-based technical training, which is run on a frequent basis at ZyXEL’s offices.
