Enhance your Zyxel skills online
Patrick Hirscher, EMEA Wireless Market Development Manager at Zyxel, says that while access to classroom-based training is limited, partners and customers can take good advantage of the online training that Zyxel has made available.
The last few months have presented us all with new challenges and opportunities. It has been frustrating in many ways, but we have also learned a few things. How much time we can save by not travelling to and from the office every day, for example, and just how effective video conferencing and collaboration can be.
Another thing we’ve learned is that we can make use of the time we save not travelling to and from the workplace to enhance our skills. It has not been possible to hold classroom-based training sessions, of course, and to overcome this and help partners and customers continue to advance their skills, Zyxel has created the Campus Academy.
We have put all our Zyxel Certified Network Engineer (ZCNE) certification training on this platform, which you will find at https://academy.zyxel.eu/. Initially, Level 1 ZCNE courses are available in all four technology areas – Switching, Wireless, Security and Nebula. They are delivered by an experienced trainer in both German and English.
On demand
They have been recorded ‘as live’ to camera, so they are as close as you can get to the classroom experience. You also have access to a specially-developed e-book and list of FAQs. There is a short quiz at the end of each module and once they are all completed you can trigger the final exam.
As well as the on-demand courses, we run weekly Q&A webinar sessions, during which trainees can address any questions or issues they might have about the course content. You can also access the Zyxel Support Portal if you have more in-depth queries. More courses are being recorded and will be made available soon.
At your own pace
With the Campus Academy it is perfectly feasible to do your ZCNE training using these specially-developed virtual resources. One big advantage of online training is that you can take the courses in your own time and at your own pace – and also take the exam when it suits you.
It will be useful to have the courses available online, especially during this period during which it’s not possible to hold classroom-based sessions. We will be interested to see what kind of uptake we get. If the Campus Academy proves to be popular, we will continue to add more material and update the courses we make available on the platform. Who knows, this could be the way most technical training will be delivered in the future.
